The sub-contract for the installation of trackside signalling equipment and cabling on Stages 4 & 5 of the newly constructed Thomson Line was formally signed and awarded to Asia Rail Engineering Pte Ltd (ARE) by Singapore Technologies Engineering Electronics (STEE) on 21^st April 2021. The project involves the installation of all trackside signalling equipment and cabling throughout the 29km (total track length) all located underground. The system being installed is Alstom’s U400. We have also been awarded the sub-contract for the installation of Platform Screen Doors (PSD) on 5 of the 9 stations throughout Stages 4 & 5 (subject to contract being signed). “We are looking forward to strengthening a good working relationship with STEE” said Ken after the contract signing. “I previously worked with some of the Engineers on the project when I was the Construction Manager at Alstom for the project, we have a good mutual respect for each other and I am looking forward to the task ahead”
